Universal Audio Announce New Apollo X Gen 2 Interfaces

Six years on from the launch of the wildly successful Apollo “X” range, Universal Audio have just announced the successor and next evolution of the interface family; Apollo X Gen 2. The Apollo Twin X, x4 and rack mount models have all been refreshed with a host of exciting new features in conjunction with an updated console app and all-new Essential+, Studio+ and Ultimate+ plugin bundles (see below for more details). Here’s an overview of what’s new:

• Brand new look and feel, with a sleek industrial design.
• Improved D/A converters, monitor outputs and crucially, a newly designed headphone amp for best-in-class critical listening.
• Auto-Gain will feature within UA Console to ensure effortless recording workflow.
  – On launch, 6 Unison Pres will be available with Auto-Gain with more to come post-launch.
  – Available on all mic / line / Hi-Z preamp inputs.
  – A new Auto-Gain ON/OFF selection will feature on Console channel strips.
• Built-In room correction utilising Sonarworks SoundID – this can be used within UA Console in real-time using Apollo DSP.
  – Import SoundID Reference profiles to apply Apollo Monitor Correction.
  – Over 20 studio-grade UA precision filters and alignment delays for stereo and multi-channel speaker arrays, headphone outputs.
  – All this in real-time running Apollo DSP.
• Bass Management for Subwoofers in both Stereo and Surround configs.
• Bypass Preamps on Apollo Desktop Units
  – Mastering grade line inputs to A/D Converter.
• New SKUs including Software Bundles
  – Essentials+ Edition (inc. Auto Tune Access)
  – Studio+ Edition (inc. Auto-Tune RealTime X)
